Our Thai Cooking School has:

  • 1 day to 5 day Thai cooking courses - you can start and finish on any day that fits your schedule.
  • Thai cooking classes every day.
  • Every student has their own cooking station and equipment
  • Class Hours: 10.00 am to 4.00 pm
  • Our courses include:
  • An introduction to Thai ingredients, paste making, a tour of the market or fruit carving. 
  • Comprehensive, easy-to-follow and full colour Thai cook book with the Thai food recipes you learn in class.
  • Eating all the food that you cooked for lunch.

 Introduction to #1:
Thai Ingredients

Couse 1#

Morning activity:

Introduction to Thai ingredients: Sompon will display a tray of ingredients and will go through each one and explain how to prepare it, how to store it and what can be used as a substitute. Most of this information is already in your cook book, but any extra questions you have we will be happy to answer.


Morning dishes:
Thai Hot And Sour Prawn Soup(Tom Yam Goong)
Green Curry With Chicken (Gaeng Kheo Wan Gai)
Thai Thai Style Fish Cakes(Tord Man Plaa)
Fried Noodles (Phad Thai)

Lunch
Students eat the dishes they have prepared in the morning.

Afternoon Dishes:

Spicy Minced Chicken Salad(Larb Gai)
Water Chestnuts With Sugar Syrup And Coconut Milk (Tab Tim Grob)

 

Course #2

Making the Curry Pastes  

Course#2

Morning activity:

Making Curry Pastes: You will make your own curry pastes by using a pestle and mortar. The ingredients will need to be prepared first and then ground to a paste. Sompon will be on hand to help everybody.

Morning dishes:
Panaeng Curry With Pork (Gaeng Panaeng Muu)
Chiang Mai Curry With Chicken(Gaeng Hanglay Gai)
Fried Fish With Chilli And Basil (Pla Nin Laad Prik Bai Horapa)
Sweet And Sour Vegetables(Phad Prio Wan Phak)

Lunch

Afternoon Dishes:

Spicy Glass Noodle Salad(Yam Wun Sen)

The Local Market

 Morning activity:

A tour of the local market: We will take you to the market and explain to you all about the different vegetables, herbs, roots and spices being sold, so you can actually see what these raw products look like before they are cooked.

Chicken In Coconut Milk Soup(Tom Kha Gai)
Red Curry With Fish(Gaeng Phed Plaa)
Fried Mixed Mushrooms With Baby Corn(Phad Hed Ruam Khao Pod Orn)
Fried, Big Noodles With Thick Sauce(Raad Nah Muu)

Lunch

Students eat the dishes they have prepared in the morning.

Afternoon Dishes:

Papaya Salad And Sticky Rice (Som Tam)

Course #4:
Shopping at the Market

Morning activity:

Shopping for ingredients at the market: We will teach you how to choose ingredients that are fresh and each person will have their own shopping list (we pay!).

Morning dishes:
Yellow Curry With Chicken(Gaeng Garee Gai)
Steamed Fish In Banana Leaves(Hor Neung Plaa)
Chicken With Cashew Nuts(Gai Phad Med Mamuang)
Fried Big Noodles With Sweet Soy Sauce(Phad Siewe)

Carving

Morning activity:
Vegetable Carving:
We will teach you the basics of vegetable carving including how to use the knives.You will learn how to make a flower and how to carve leaves

We offers  you a choice of 5 different courses.  Each course has been designed as a one day course so that you will learn the main techniques for cooking Thai food whichever course you attend.  Courses 1 to 5 are run sequentially on five successive days, and then the sequence starts over.
